How to Undo in Adobe Illustrator
In Adobe Illustrator, there are two methods to Undo. We will discuss both methods in this tutorial.
1st Method: Undo by Short key
The easiest way to undo is by using the short key.
Press shortcut key Ctrl+Z from the keyboard to Undo in Adobe Illustrator.
You can press Ctrl+Z as much time as you want to Undo. You can repeat this again and again until you reach the desired design.
Step 1: We have created the Circle by using Ellipse Tool.


Now, fill the color in the circle by going to “Properties > Appearance > Fill”.


But after filling the color, we want to change it.
Step 2: Simply, Press Ctrl+Z to Undo.

As you can see the color disappeared and the shape appeared as it was before.
Step 3: Now fill another color.


2nd Method: Undo by Edit menu
Another way to undo is by using the option available in the Edit menu.
Go to Edit > Undo.

As you press undo the step you have done in the design will be undone. You can go again to Edit > Undo to undone again if needed.
Step 1: As we have drawn a square and then filled the color but then we realize we need to fill another color in it.



Step 2: Instead of deleting it, we will just undo the setting for it. Go to Edit > Undo.

As we undo the square is set back to the original shape without any color.

How to Increase Undo Limit in Illustrator
