PNG is used occasionally for different projects as a graphic designer, projects, drawings, banners, and many more. While creating a graphic, we sometimes need to change the color of the PNG to increase the look of our graphics. Many people find it difficult to change the color of PNG. Here we are going to tell you the easiest way to change the color of a PNG using Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator offers its users the to change any type of PNG with the easiest methods.
Here are the steps to change the color of a PNG in Adobe Illustrator:
Run your Adobe Illustrator on your windows or mac.
Select a canvas from the given sizes or you can also make one according to your requirements by clicking on Create New in the left corner. A new document window will appear. Add width and height in the left corner and then click on Create. (You can also choose other settings from the Advanced options.)
Now it’s time to insert your desired image onto the canvas.
Go to the File menu, in the upper left corner, and then select Open from the drop-down list or you can also press “Ctrl+O” from the keyboard.

A new Open window will appear.

Select your desired image from its location and then click on the Open button located in the bottom right corner.
Your desired PNG is now opened in your canvas. (You can always change the size of your PNG if it appears bigger than your canvas. (You can also directly drag the PNG into your canvas)
Now select PNG and then go to Windows that is located on the Menu bar and then select Image Trace from the drop-down list.

Image trace panel will appear. Select Color from Mode’s drop-down list.

Click on Advanced options and then check Ignore White and then click on Trace.

Go to the left side “Properties” panel and in the Quick Actions section and then click on Expand.

After Expanding PNG, click on Recolor from the Quick Actions panel.

A panel will open to Recolor the PNG. You can use the color wheel to change the color of the PNG.

If you want to change each part individually, Ungroup PNG first.

To color ungroup PNG, go to Recolor and then select your desired color from the color panel.
