(Easy & Quick) Change the Color of a Pattern in Illustrator
In Adobe Illustrator, you can easily change the color of the Pattern. You can add any colors according to your choice to the pattern.
1st Method: Swatch Library
Step 1: Grab the Rectangle Tool from the left toolbar.

Step 2: Create a rectangle on the artboard. You can create any shape of any size according to your choice.

Step 3: Go to Properties > Appearance > Fill.

Step 4: From the Fill panel, we are selecting the Jive pattern. You can use any pattern.

The pattern will be filled in the rectangle shape that we have created.
Now let’s change the color of the pattern.
Step 5: To change the color of the pattern, go to Properties > Appearance > Fill > Hidden Menu.

Step 6: When you click on the hidden menu, a list will appear.

Step 7: In the list select Open Swatch Library > Nature > Flowers.

Note: You can scroll through all the colors and choose any swatch according to your choice.
Step 8: A panel will appear having different swatches inside it.

Step 9: Click on any color palette that you want to use to change the pattern color.

Step 10: Colors of the selected palette will be added to the fill.

Step 11: Double click on the palette to change the pattern’s color from the Fill box.

Step 12: Recolor Artwork dialog box will appear.

Note: From the Recolor Artwork panel, you can also change the color of the pattern through the Color Groups section.

Step 13: Click OK when you have selected the color according to your choice from the Recolor Artwork panel.
Now you can see the color of the pattern is changed with the new colors.

2nd Method: Recolor Artwork
Another easiest way to change the color of a pattern in Illustrator is by using the Recolor Artwork tool.
Step 1: Here we are using the star tool From the left toolbar. To select it right-click or long-press on the Rectangle Tool and select Star Tool. You can use any shape according to your choice.

Step 2: Draw a Star on the artboard.

Step 3: Go to Properties > Appearance > Fill.

Step 4: From the fill panel we are selecting the Jive pattern. You can use any pattern according to your choice.
The shape will be filled with the pattern.

Step 5: To change the color of the pattern, go to Edit > Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork.

Step 6: Recolor artwork panel will appear.

Step 7: You can move the Handle to change the color of the Pattern. Place the handle anywhere according to your choice.

Step 8: Click anywhere on the artboard and the Recolor Artwork panel will disappear.
As you can see the color is changed now.

In Adobe Illustrator there are many patterns available for free. To access free patterns in Illustrator go to Window > Swatches. The Swatch panel will appear.
